Super seven, also sold as melody stone or sacred seven, is a quartz from the Espirito Santo region of Brazil said to unite seven minerals in one crystal: amethyst, clear quartz, smoky quartz, plus inclusions of rutile, goethite, lepidocrocite and cacoxenite. In practice, any individual stone usually shows a few of the seven, with purple amethyst zones threaded by golden and rusty needles. Honest sellers treat the name as a locality and style rather than a guarantee of all seven ingredients, and that is how we use it too.
Its quartz body gives it a hardness of 7 with no cleavage, so it is comfortable in daily pendants, rings and beads. It is cut as polished freeforms, cabochons and faceted stones, chosen to frame the prettiest tangle of inclusions, and every piece is genuinely unique. Watch for ordinary included amethyst sold at super seven prices; the value lies in rich, varied inclusions, so judge the stone in front of you.
